G. Murray Thomas Biography

G. Murray Thomas has performed his poetry all over Southern California, at almost every major poetry venue.  He has performed at Lollapalooza, The Whiskey, The Coach House, the Knitting Factory and the 1996 National Poetry Slam. His poetry has been published in numerous literary magazines, including Chiron Review, Pearl, Caffeine and Spillway.

Thomas hosts The Poetry Show, featuring interviews and performances by Southern California poets, on The PrimeSpot Radio, on KBeach.org, the first Friday of the month (during the school year), at 10 pm PT.

Thomas' first full length collection of poems, Cows on the Freeway, was published by iUniverse in 2000. He has also published five chapbooks, Death to the Real World, Opposite Oceans, Poetry Spilled All Over the Carpet,  A Rare Thing, and Songs of Inappropriate Desire. In 2005, iUniverse reprinted Paper Shredders, an anthology of surf poetry first published by Thomas in 1993.

 Between 1994 and 1998, he edited and published Next... Magazine, a poetry calendar/newsmagazine for Southern California.
